Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro Staggered Strat is a 3-pickup set that delivers all of the chime and bell tone enjoyed by Stratocaster players in the 50s, but with a sweeter sounding treble attack.
This is a full set of the Alnico 2 Pro Staggered single coils for Stratocaster. They use hand ground alnico 2 rod magnets with a traditional staggered pattern, and heavy Formvar mag wire with a special wind pattern to produce that classic bouncy tone youd expect from the best 50s Strat pickups. The treble attack is soft and sweet, the mids feel just slightly scooped, while the low end has a vintage sponginess. Chords have a nice smoothness and single notes have a singing, musical character.This calibrated set includes a reverse wound, reverse polarity middle pickup for noiseless operation in positions 2 & 4.
Like all of Duncan’s vintage Fender style single coil pickups, they start with the right color and thickness of Forbon flatwork. Along with the period correct magnet stagger, this pickup comes complete with waxed and tinned cloth pushback hook-up wires and traditional keyed bottom plate. Duncan hand-files the flatwork, assembles, and lacquers the bobbin just as it was done during Fenders Golden Age.
